What does it actually take to make a garment? Methods of Making Fashion is an interactive workshop and one-night exhibition by Fashion Community Helsinki that opens up the creative processes behind contemporary fashion design. The event is part of the Fashion in Helsinki programme, taking place 26–30 May 2026.
With three designers and three distinct working methods, visitors are invited to explore how ideas evolve into garments through experimentation, construction, and decoration.
The designers are present throughout the event, guiding visitors through their creative processes and inviting them to take part hands-on. By combining fashion, process, and participation, the exhibition makes fashion design visible, accessible, and experiential.
